The Youth Academy program is for players born in 2015 and 2016 who have demonstrated a love for the sport and whose parents feel they are ready for a more challenging program than recreational soccer. Players who have success in this program will typically move into the club’s competitive program.

Each session includes a combination of small sided games that teach the skill and allow the players to enjoy the game. Play dates with other local clubs with similar programs allow players and parents to experience a more competitive experience.
If you watch the video to the left, you will see demonstration of dribbling at pace looking for open space and the basic concept of team shape and how to support the ball all of which is part of our program.
Q: What is the time commitment required?
A: Two practices a week (75 minutes each) or combination of training session and friendly matches against other clubs with similar program.
Q: Do you take players born before 2016 or after 2015?
A: We do not. Players born before 2016 are usually eligible for Kickers and players born after 2015 can play on a competitive team.
Q: Are there tryouts for United Youth Academy?
A: There are no tryouts.
Q: What’s the next step after United Youth Academy?
A: After completing the program, coaches will provide each player’s parent/guardian with an evaluation and recommendation for the next program to register for. It could be Academy again, a competitive team or a recreational team.
Q: How do I know if my player is ready for the Academy?
A: When thinking about your player can he/she:
a) Commit to attending the sessions for the majority of the season
b) Focus for the full 75 minutes of the sessions
c) Be able to take direction from the coach
d) Be part of a group and work successfully in a team setting.
If you aren’t sure if your child is ready, call the club to discuss your child and for help in determining the right program for them.
The foundation of this program will be experienced coaches who will work with each player to help them learn the necessary soccer and interpersonal skills needed to enjoy the game of soccer. The coaches for this program have been selected not only for their knowledge of soccer but ability to communicate effectively.

This program is designed for the player who loves to compete and has the drive to become a better player. Training activities are designed to be fun and the games and scrimmages are the reward for hard work and being able to show off what they have worked on.
