Bloomington United Names Ryan Heinritz as Executive Director
Bloomington, MN (February 2026) — Bloomington United Soccer Club has named Ryan Heinritz as its new Executive Director, positioning the club for its next phase of financial and programmatic growth.
A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Heinritz grew up playing for Milwaukee Sport Club, Sussex FC, and Parkland Soccer Club before earning a B.A. in Mass Communication with a minor in Theater from Winona State University.
Ryan Heinritz brings more than 25 years of executive leadership experience across performing arts organizations, major league sports, higher education foundations, and nonprofit institutions—paired with a deep commitment to youth soccer as a coach and program builder.
He previously served as Executive Director of the Paradise Center for the Arts in Faribault, Minnesota, where he was recruited to stabilize the fiscally struggling organization. Over five years, he eliminated operating losses, retired significant debt, expanded staff, increased membership fivefold, and repositioned the Center as a regional cultural destination.
Most recently, Ryan held senior fundraising and partnership leadership roles with The Ordway, Normandale Community College Foundation and the Minnesota Twins Baseball Club, securing six and seven-figure partnerships and building long-term relationships with corporate leaders, foundations, boards, and families—grounded in trust, transparency, and mission-driven results.
Ryan is also the Founder and Director of Soccer for Cannon River FC (CRFC), a collaborative development program focused on helping student-athletes grow as players, teammates, and people. He currently serves as Head Coach of the CRFC G18U Select team, leading a competitive and values-driven program.
“The appointment of Ryan Heinritz marks a significant milestone in our transformation into a sustainable community-based soccer club,” said Andrea Puckett, Bloomington United Club President. “After a rigorous search process, we are confident that Ryan’s expertise in nonprofit leadership and his passion for the game will be instrumental to developing impactful community partnerships and expanding access and player pathways in and around Bloomington.”
In January 2023, Bloomington United faced significant organizational instability, including complete staff and board turnover, declining registrations, and financial and legal challenges. Under new Board leadership, the club committed to financial transparency, strengthened community partnerships, and implemented a “Balanced Competitor” strategy designed to better serve multi-sport athletes.
Since then, the club has more than doubled participation, increased revenue from $268,000 in 2022 to more than $600,000, and re-established itself as a growing pillar of the Bloomington youth sports community.
With that foundation in place, the Board has selected Heinritz to lead the organization into its next chapter of sustainability, access expansion, and competitive growth.
“I’m honored to join Bloomington United at such a pivotal time,” said Heinritz. “The Board has done the hard work of stabilization and rebuilding trust. The next chapter is about scaling responsibly—expanding access to competitive soccer, strengthening coaching excellence, and ensuring long-term financial sustainability for Bloomington families and neighboring communities.”
Heinritz officially steps into the role on Monday, February 16, 2026. His immediate priorities include hiring the club’s next Director of Coaching, supporting current winter programming, and preparing for the upcoming spring and summer seasons.
