Our Commitment

At Bloomington United, we are dedicated to offering competitive soccer at various levels to suit all skill sets. Our goal is to place every player who shows a passion for the game on a team that matches their abilities. Tryouts are held in July for the upcoming soccer year, which runs from August 1 through July 31. Once placed, players continue with their teams from the Fall Season, through Winter training, and into the Spring Season. If you missed tryouts but are eager to join Bloomington United, we may still have openings! We welcome players with a competitive spirit who are committed to playing soccer at a competitive level. If you have any questions or concerns (or are just confused!) please email Bobbie, our Club Administrator, at admin@bysc.org.  She is happy to talk through all the options!

How to Join

New Player Pathway: Missed tryouts but still interested in joining a competitive soccer team?  We are looking for new players to fill open roster spots for our Spring Season.  If roster space is available, we invite players to register their intent to play with free registration.  This registration helps us understand how many players are interested and allows us to navigate the rostering process more effectively.

We invite and stronly encourage any player interested in joining a team for the Spring season to participate in our Winter Team Training.  This training not only allows for player assessment but also offers a great opportunity to develop skills over the winter.  We also offer Winter Scrimmage sessions for further chances to refine skills in preparation for the Spring Season.

Spring Competitive Season Overview

Spring Season: For all U9-U15 players – The Spring Season begins in late April/early May and concludes by early July.  Teams practice three nights a week. Once the League season begins, the third practice night becomes a game night.  All teams play a 10-match schedule with primary play nights assigned for each division.  The season culminates in the TCSL FInal 4  for U11+ players and our very own Mega Cup for our U9 and U10 age groups. Two weekend tournaments are included in the Spring season fees and are decided on by the Coach with parent input. Additional tournaments would be at the discretion of the Coach and would be an additional team expense.

Winter Team Training – Savage Dome

For all new players interested in our Spring Competitive program, we strongly encourage you to participate in our Winter Team Training.  This training program includes one session per week from the end of October through early April at the indoor Savage Dome facility  The Savage Dome sessions provide valuable training on high-quality artificial turf throughout the winter season. Training on turf ensures players can reach the basic skill level as a team and allows players to adapt to different playing conditions (artificial turf and grass).  Continuing development during the off-season as a team is vital to maintain team development and cohesion. For our new players, these sessions allow time to meet fellow team mates and get acquainted with the Coach. It will also allow our Coaches to review player skill sets and ensure we provide you with proper team placement for the Spring.

Winter Scrimmage – High School Gyms

If you would like additional opportunities for training, we are also offering our Winter Scrimmage sessions, held at local Bloomington gyms, for all interested players. This training program includes one session per week from the end of October through early April.  All sessions will be held at local Bloomington area high school gyms on weeknights and will not interfere with the Savage Dome sessions. Our coaches will focus on technical skills, small-sided games, and fitness.

Invite to Play

Spring Season Invitation: We will send out invitations to join a Bloomington United team as players and team formations progress through the Winter Season.  We will have all team placements for our new players before the New Year, but our goal will be to place you within the first few weeks of Winter training.  This time frame allows all interested players the opportunity to register their intent and participate in the first half of our winter sessions.
